I consider it an enormous privilege to help clients achieve personal goals. Whether you're carrying the weight of a past experience, struggling with anxiety, or just feeling stuck, therapy can offer a structured, supportive space to move forward with purpose and clarity. I’m passionate about helping others heal from trauma or other adverse life-experiences, and I work hard to help promote positive growth and learning despite life’s hardships.
My primary clinical interest is PTSD, and my clinical approach has been most influenced by Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), though I don’t see any of these as a one-size-fits-all approach. If you’re ready to take the next step in your journey, please reach out to learn more.

I believe it takes a lot of strength to reach out for help. Engaging in therapy often means a willingness to be vulnerable. It's an honor and privilege for me to experience that space with clients. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, grief, life transitions, or just feeling stuck, therapy can be a place to slow down and make sense of yourself, others and the world around you. I work with teens, adults, and older adults, and I especially enjoy supporting folks who are neurodivergent (like those with ADHD or autism), as well as older adults and caregivers navigating big life changes.
My style is warm, thoughtful, and low-pressure. I want you to feel safe showing up just as you are. I mostly use a psychodynamic approach, which means I’m interested in how your past experiences and relationships might be showing up in your current life. We’ll work together to notice patterns and build insight that helps you move forward.

There’s a lot in life we can’t control, but your power to make change is greater than you think. I offer a welcoming space to discuss life’s big questions or steps toward your goals. If you’re boxed in by work pressures, family conflicts, relationship issues, or harmful habits, let’s build a plan for change. If anger or stress are causing actions that don’t match your values, let’s draft a map for navigating hard moments.
My approach is flexible and nonjudgmental. I integrate tools from dialectical behavior therapy to help clients improve communication and build comfort with tough emotions. I take a strengths-based approach to highlight the skills and resilience you already have, and take an existential view with clients exploring their purpose in the world.

Many folks seek therapy due to a disconnection: from themselves, others, or community. During therapy, I support your identification of relationship patterns, offer feedback on your relationship style, and hold space for you to practice different relational approaches. I can also incorporate interventions that are cognitive (focus on thoughts), behavioral (action-based), or emotional (name, express, and be with feelings), depending on your personal needs.
Therapy is about change, and change can be scary. With humor, compassion, understanding, and belief in your capacity, I can help you explore what types of change might help you most.

Kara Collins, MA LMFT

My most common client is someone wanting to work on their marriage/intimate relationship. These clients typically feel frustrated, unheard, and anxious about the state of their partnership. Common issues I work with include concerns about ongoing relationship conflict, frustration with a spouse, difficulties finding resolution in arguments, parenting disagreements, an impending/recent separation or divorce, and being in a relationship with a partner with mental health struggles or addiction.
I believe it's essential to understand your past and how it influences you (and your relationships) today. I help clients look at specific life patterns and habits/behaviors that are holding them back. As an Experiential and Internal Family Systems therapist, my therapeutic style is based on compassion and sincere respect for the life struggles of others.

Therapy can be many things: healing, grounding, even artistic. At its best, it is a space where your strengths, pain, and experiences are honored, and where real change becomes possible. I believe in meeting people where they are, and see therapy as a collaborative journey, using your personal story as the guide. I draw from a variety of evidence-based approaches to help you work through anxiety, depression, and trauma, while supporting you in reconnecting with your inner resilience.
I have experience working with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and feel strongly about creating a therapy space that is inclusive, respectful, and affirming. My current areas of interest are trauma/PTSD, anxiety and depression, and I work with preteens, teens, and adults.

Life doesn’t always go as planned. Sometimes, the changes we face can feel overwhelming, painful, or isolating. Whether you’re navigating trauma, grief, a major transition, or simply feeling stuck, therapy can be a powerful step forward. I work with adults experiencing a wide range of emotional challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, parenting stress, and identity shifts. Many of my clients come to therapy during times of change: after a loss, during pregnancy or postpartum, in early recovery, or while trying to make sense of a new chapter in life.
I take a person-centered, relational approach to therapy. That means we’ll work together at your pace. I’m also a LADC, so I often support clients dealing with overlapping mental health and substance use concerns. I have training in advanced perinatal mental health, and experience working with individuals navigating complex emotional patterns.

I have a passion for working with adolescents and young adults and for the unique struggles that they face. Using a person-centered approach, I aim to create a space for you to tell your individual story in a safe and trusting environment. I want to know you and help you feel that your problems are valid, real, and manageable. Though we are all individuals, we grow up and live within systems and social contexts that shape our experiences, and I do my best to acknowledge this aspect of you in addition to your autonomy.
There is no "right" reason to seek therapy. Sometimes life is hard, and talking to a therapist can make it feel a little easier. Whether you are experiencing stress and anxiety from school, feeling sad about a break-up, frustrated from losing a job, or overwhelmed about politics and the state of the world, we can work through that together.

Sometimes our lives can become overwhelming and challenging. We might encounter events that are out of our control. Perhaps our relationships are rocky, or we are at some point in our lives where change is disruptive and hard to maneuver. Suddenly, we find ourselves needing support and want to explore what therapy might have to offer. I work with individuals, families, and couples in a range of ages, teen to elder. I am an inclusive provider who is a strong supporter/advocate in working with BIPOC and LBGTQIA2+ communities.
I find it really helpful to create a solid therapeutic connection which allows the individual to feel they are truly validated. Some of the interventions I am trained in include EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), Brainspotting, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, and Internal Family Systems.

I strongly believe in the transformative power of therapy. I work with clients using curiosity and understanding to explore the roadblocks that keep them from becoming who they want to be. I typically work with teenagers and adults, and am open to working with individuals, couples, or families. Many of my clients feel stuck or disconnected from themselves or from the people they care about. Together, we work to understand what’s going on and how to move forward in a way that feels true to you.
I believe therapy should feel like a real conversation, and I’ll always meet you where you’re at. I use a mix of evidence-based approaches like CBT, DBT, ACT, mindfulness, and strengths-based techniques, all tailored to your unique needs and goals. I’m here when you’re ready.

It takes strength to engage in therapy, and I work with people to nurture that strength to enrich their lives. In therapy people will learn to understand and manage emotions, gain coping skills, and overcome obstacles to achieve their goals. I can help you identify what is getting in your way, understand what has caused you to feel stuck, and address those issues in a way that creates lasting change. I have extensive experience with the LGBTQ community, and I have a special interest in trauma.
I am trained in EMDR and other modalities for treating PTSD to help you live life with more vibrancy and joy. I am also the former president of the Minnesota Society for Clinical Social Work and a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer from Guatemala.

Therapy can be a space for deep healing, and it starts with feeling safe, seen, and supported. If you're navigating relationships, healing from trauma, or managing long-standing patterns rooted in attachment wounds, you don’t have to do it alone. I offer a grounded, compassionate space to help you process the past and reconnect with your strength in the present. My training includes EMDR, somatic, energy psychology, and cognitive-behavioral tools to help rewire thought patterns and support the nervous system in releasing stored emotional pain, often leading to long-lasting, transformational change.
Healing doesn't have to be rushed. My approach is calm, collaborative, and deeply respectful of your pace. Whether you are carrying trauma in your body or feel like life is just "too much", let’s see together how we can help you get on an easier, happier road.

I enjoy building relationships and promoting positive changes in people's lives. I believe that "weaknesses" are often strengths overutilized or used in non-ideal contexts. Working collaboratively with clients, I can help them better utilize their innate strengths to meet their goals and improve their day to day lives. My clients often struggle with depression, anxiety, OCD, gay men's issues, phobias, relationships, sleep problems, self-esteem and confidence. I am especially interested in working with gay identified men and people struggling with phobias or OCD, but love working with all sorts of folks and issues.
I have training and experience in using a variety of therapies and use a blend of different methods. I most often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy. I strive to be flexible and adaptive to the individual needs of my clients. I would be honored to work with you.

Witnessing people create meaningful changes in their lives has been my greatest privilege as a therapist. Strong, loving relationships, healthy family bonds, vocational success, healing from wounds of trauma, and reconnecting to a joyful participation in life are some of the experiences I have been able to share with clients. I hold a Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy and bring my background in creative arts, trauma work, and rich life experience to help clients get past the barriers of anxiety, depression, and trauma.
My experience includes work with children, adolescents, adults and families. My primary specialty is trauma, but I also have a lot of experience with ADHD, children and adults impacted by divorce and family transitions. Other specialties include anxiety, depression, relationship struggles and compulsive behavior patterns.

If the whole world's a stage (as Shakespeare wrote), you are the lead actor. I take a supporting role for you or your child to achieve optimal mental health. I welcome all ages and forms of diversity, including non-binary or trans-identified individuals. I work with children/adolescents, adults, couples and families of any configuration. With my therapy dog, Jasper, I also provide Animal-Assisted Therapy.
My style is person-centered and relational, with strong CBT influences. I am trained in crisis intervention, suicidal ideation and self-injurious behavior. My strengths include engaging with children/adolescents or reticent clients. I see first-time therapy clients, those with situational concerns, and those with ongoing complex mental health issues.

Too often we get caught up in worrying about things we cannot control, yet don't know where to start in making a change in the right direction. Maybe you are currently struggling in your relationships, navigating blended family dynamics, trying to process and heal from religious trauma, or working to understand and celebrate your sexuality. As your therapist, I will take the time to get to know and understand your experiences, areas of stuckness, and overwhelm, as we work together to create meaningful changes.
The clients who connect with me the most are adults and young adults experiencing symptoms of anxiety, unresolved trauma, or poor self-esteem. I draw from a variety of therapy models, primarily using mindfulness, emotionally focused therapy, and IFS. I value alternative and holistic approaches, and can help connect you with complementary practitioners.

It takes a lot of courage to reach out to a therapist, and you've taken that first step already. I don't know your story yet, but if you are experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, or loss, you don't need to go through it alone. You deserve support, comfort, and help. Whatever you're struggling with, you're invited to my office—in person or virtual—for a conversation.
I'm an open, gentle, sometimes sarcastic person. Therapy usually involves grappling with some uncomfortable feelings, but my clients and I also often joke and laugh in our meetings. I have training and experience dealing with a range of issues from grief to ADHD, but everyone's path is unique. I'd love to walk with you for as long as I can be helpful.

I’m fascinated by how complex we are as human beings and how enriching our emotional and social experiences can be. I find that what’s most helpful in therapy is to take time to find the strength in the individuals and families I meet. I was born and raised in Mexico, which gives me the ability to provide therapy fluently in Spanish as well as in English along with a personal understanding of Latino culture, American culture and multicultural relationships. I also have a connection with Deaf culture in Minnesota and deep respect for people who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Soy de México, lo que me dá la habilidad de dar consejería en Español o en Inglés con un entendimiento de la cultura y familias Latinas. Me va a dar gusto conocerte y entender por lo que estás pasando.

Life is constantly moving, changing, and evolving. Sometimes it feels like too much to take on alone. In a fast-paced world with many truths, I enable individuals to fully understand themselves in a warm, collaborative, and judgment-free environment. I enjoy working with individuals from all backgrounds, especially women ages 18+. I have a special interest in supporting individuals dealing with a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, navigating life transitions, managing relationships, addressing eating issues, fostering positive body image, and enhancing self-esteem.
I believe the foundation for therapy is the relationship. I want to create a space that feels approachable and safe to every individual. I will strive to make the therapeutic process collaborative and centered around your goals, with some friendly challenges thrown in at times. I look forward to working with you, and helping you set and meet your goals!

I focus on learning who a person is uniquely, and I take an active role in treatment, offering genuine warmth and support as well as practical feedback. I draw from various theoretical approaches but commonly use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindful self-compassion, Exposure Response Prevention, and Internal Family Systems. As a licensed clinical social worker I have had the pleasure of working in cities across the United States with a wide range of individuals from a variety of backgrounds.
I work with individuals 18 and older, and my areas of special interest include anxiety, OCD, mindfulness, self-compassion, and climate-conscious therapy (support for anxiety/distress about our changing ecosystem).

People are unique human beings with a long list of remarkable qualities. Sometimes though, we feel that we have qualities that we need to work on to be our better selves. I work with individuals to find and strengthen those qualities. I consider each of the individuals who come to me for sessions as just that, individuals with autonomy. I use Emotional Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and Play and Art Therapy.
I will help you figure out what you need and want, support healthy boundaries in your relationships, teach concrete skills that you can use, and guide you as you re-parent your inner child. Most importantly, in our work together you will find that you are a lovable human being with lots of awesome traits and that you belong in this world.

I became a therapist because I've always wanted to do things that make a positive difference in the lives of others. I've volunteered as a tutor for elementary school students, helped families in need with moving and delivering groceries, and been a mentor for the past 8 years to a young man who is now 20 years old. I've worked with clients for 10+ years to help them find whatever it is they're looking for in their life journeys, and I consider it an honor and privilege to be a part of that process. I strive to create an environment that is accepting and nonjudgmental.
I work with individuals, couples and families of all cultures, including adults, teenagers, and children. My focus is on listening, understanding, empathizing, and trying to help to the best of my abilities.

Seeking change requires risk, and risk requires vulnerability. One of my greatest honors as a therapist is being trusted to witness and participate in one’s healing journey. I believe in the importance of developing the therapeutic relationship and creating a space where you are able to be your authentic self. I use person-centered, cognitive behavioral, mindfulness and EMDR modalities to help you achieve your goals. We work together to restructure thinking patterns, explore your story, and reduce recurrent distress.
I have extensive experience working with substance abuse, adolescent anger management, life transitions, gender and sexuality issues and trauma therapy. I enjoy working with adults, adolescents (15+), and within the LGBTQ+ community.

In my practice, I encourage each individual on their unique journey towards wellness. Therapy with me is a balance of lighthearted conversation and meaningful exploration. You don’t have to come to therapy with everything figured out—I meet you where you are, creating a space of trust, curiosity, and support. I have a foundation in mindfulness and meditation techniques, and employ elements of art therapy and Gestalt therapy while utilizing a Transpersonal lens.
I work with individual adults, couples and teenagers, with a specialized focus on working with LGBTQ+ clients and individuals undergoing gender questioning or transition. I also work with clients struggling with anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues, and spirituality.

I believe that the best therapy is radically empathetic and real, that all people hold the innate capacity for healing, and that there is courage, strength, and healing when we are able to express and release our emotional pain. With more than a decade of experience providing psychotherapy to individuals from all walks of life, I assist individuals to arrive at their own truth and walk towards living a more authentic life: one that that is more in line with who they are, what they believe, value, and want for themselves.
I focus on the LGBTQ community, HIV positive individuals, individuals struggling with chemical dependency, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, relationships problems, compulsivity, crisis, chronic pain, and trauma/PTSD. I also work with a broad spectrum of sexuality issues, including compulsive behavior, identity confusion, shame, and HIV-related anxiety.

My clients are the champions of their own lives. It is an honor and a privilege to witness clients grow, heal, and establish better relationships. I have specialized training in how to help people manage and overcome obsessive compulsive disorder and in how to help people resolve marital/couple problems.
I also do focused work in helping clients navigate gender identity issues, and sexual identity issues. I am LGBTQ friendly and kink friendly. I have practical experience helping people with anxiety disorders, obsessive behaviors, mood disorders, and "how to be a grown up" struggles. Past clients have described me as helpful, quirky, hopeful, and healing.

I consider the opportunity to learn about a client's unique inner experiences to be a wonderful privilege. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, relationship dynamics, or seeking deeper self-understanding, therapy offers a space to explore, learn and evolve. I view therapy as a collaborative journey, where your experiences and insights guide our work together. My aim is to create a warm, open, and safe environment where you feel heard and supported.
My work is integrative and rooted in Person-Centered Theory. I utilize various interventions including Emotionally Focused Therapy, CBT, and an existential approach. I have experience with adults and couples with a range of ages, cultural backgrounds, and presenting concerns including life transitions, trauma, anxiety, depression, and identity exploration.

If you're feeling alone in whatever you're struggling with, I'm here to help. I have compassion and vast life experience to help support and guide you through this. I provide a safe and accepting space, where you can access your most creative, intuitive self, and find answers within. Together, things won't seem so hard. I believe that when we change our brains, we change our lives; and when we connect with our emotions, we open our hearts.
My practice is informed by both neuroscience and the life lessons of parenting three daughters. I have an additional MA in Human Development with a focus on neuroscience and psychotherapy. My work with clients includes bibliotherapy, creative visualization, and a focus on emotional integration and processing.

I've been in the mental health field for over 25 years and still strive to keep my "beginner's mind". I have a psychodynamic orientation (which means I believe that the relationship between the therapist and you is an important part of the process). My work is informed by many things, including the Buddhist principal that suffering comes from attachment to things we often aren't aware of or simply don't know how to let go of. I've found it helpful to use various wisdom resources, poetry, and humor in therapy.
Regardless of theoretical orientation and style, research has shown that in order for therapy to be effective, people must feel that the therapist has a genuine sense of connection to them. I very much enjoy the work and the people I work with, and I look forward to connecting.

You’re driven, capable, and often seen as “doing fine”—even when you feel overwhelmed inside. Maybe anxiety is showing up before tests, games, or social situations. Maybe you’re questioning who you are outside of school, your sport, or others' expectations. I work with preteens, teens, and young adults to slow down, manage anxiety, build confidence, and reconnect with what matters. You don’t have to do it all alone—and you don’t have to have it all figured out.
My approach is warm, direct, and strengths-based. I lead with empathy while also holding space for accountability. We’ll build on what’s working, explore what’s getting in the way, and take practical steps toward change so you can move forward with more clarity, confidence, and self-trust.
